Help Us Make #HappyBdayMikeShinoda a TT on the 11th

Wednesday, February 10, 2010

I tried to spread the word, and many other people are as well! We just HAVE to make Mike's birthday a TT, as I said in the last post, it's not about how early we start posting about it's how many people we get on the same time posting about it!
This IS after all the Mike Shinoda Clan, a fansite for Mike Shinoda, we MUST get this a Trending Topic (TT). We have over 1000 followers on Twitter, PLEASE help. Spread the word!

I made a time table so we can all get online at the same time, because I truly believe that's the only way we can succeed. I mean, just today American Idol was a TT, why? Because it was on TV and lots of people were watching it at the SAME time and tweeting about it at the same time!

So, here's the time table:

*click to make it larger.
Find your city, or a city close to you and calculate the time zone. You can also use this for help. We tried to include all the largest cities but there were just too many so we included most of them and skipped around the time zones!
I should also mention we'll be online for 30 minutes to an hour, perhaps longer tweeting this. WE CAN DO IT!

Also be sure to check the MSC site on the 11th as well! ;)

Can We Make #HappyBdayMikeShinoda a TT?

Tuesday, February 9, 2010

First, make sure to read Mike's latest blog post.

Second, it's almost Mike's birthday!! It's not TODAY, which I'm sure many people will think it is...because of the title. It's on February 11th! I want every single Mike Shinoda fan to post #HappyBdayMikeShinoda on Twitter, we got to try our BEST to make it a trending topic (TT) on Twitter. We are the MSC we have got to make #HappyBdayMikeShinoda a trending topic! We just have to! I'm thinking it's not how early we start posting it...it's how many people we can gather to post it and the time we start posting it. If we all post it during certain hours I'm sure we can get this to be a TT, but to make this happen I need to know if fans are willing to do this.

Suggestions?

"Not Alone" Lyrics / Happy Birthday Rob!

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

Mike posted the lyrics of Not Alone from the Download to Donate to Haiti, read here:

I break down / fear is sinking in
The cold comes / racing through my skin
Searching for / a way to get to you
through the storm

you
go / giving up your home
go / leaving all you’ve known
You are not alone

With arms up / stretched into the sky
With eyes like / echoes in the night
Hiding from / the hell that you’ve been through
Silent one

you
go / giving up your home
go / leaving all you’ve known
you
go / giving up your home
go / leaving all you’ve known
You are not alone

you
go / giving up your home
go / leaving all you’ve known
you
go / giving up your home
go / you are not unknown
You are not alone
You are not unknown
You are not alone

He also posted lots of links from the Download to Donate to Haiti Press. Check it out here.

On another note: Today is Rob's birthday! I hope most of you saw the tweet. :)
On behalf of the Mike Shinoda Clan, I would like to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROB! I hope you have a great day!
Also please remember that Mike will be on Larry King Live tonight at 8pm CST/9PM EST.

One more thing, please help us make #HappyBDayRobBourdon and #MusicForRelief a trending topic on Twitter. We've been trying all day but if we get enough fans to unite, I know we can do it.

Mike Gives into Twitter

Thursday, January 7, 2010

He tweeted this:

At last! REAL tweets, it's amazing before he was against twitter and now... he has it Twitter bookmarked, downloaded Tweetie for the iPhone, and he's tweeting!

Expect real tweets from Mr. Shinoda!

Plus @robdyrdek said this:

I am just so proud right now..God Bless modern technology and all of it's styles..Blog it,tweet it,text it..

I'm not sure if Phoenix won though, he did say 3 months but can't remember if he tweeted daily.

Edit: Mike also changed his Twitter Background:

I also think he changed the colors on his sidebar (for Twitter) but I'm not 100% sure on that.

140 Character Conference Pictures #140conf

Tuesday, October 27, 2009

Found some pictures from the conference!

Quotes:

What do you like about Twitter?
Everything
How often do you use Twitter?
As often as I blog.
How much info is too much?
It depends on your personality...

Here are some Tweets from twitterers that were at the conference.
@m_shinoda says that they changed the name of Linkin Park in order to get the URL when they started the band
Social media allows @m_shinoda to own his connection with fans & make sure it is "correct."
Linkin Park talking abt numbers vs "true fans." #140conf
@m_shinoda speaking with @scottperry they want more actual fans instead of the race to a million.

Mike was talking about how millions of fans isn't the most important thing for Linkin Park but rather true fans are more important to them. Quality>Quantity
I also found a video:

Will get more pics later (better quality pictures), Mike JUST spoke, literally.
Edit: More pics uploaded, one of them:

Mike to speak in the 140 Character Conference in LA

Thursday, October 15, 2009

I found this Tweet by Jeff Pulver, saying that Mike has joined the Cast of Characters of the 140 Character Conference in LA, he will speak on October 27th.
About The 140 Character Conference in LA:

At the #140conf events, we look at twitter as a platform and as a language we speak. Over time it will neither be the only platform nor the only language. #140conf is not an event about microblogging or the place where people share twitter “tips and techniques” but rather where we explore the effects of the emerging real-time Internet on Business.
Read more here.
...this event will have a special focus on the use of twitter in the Entertainment Industry.

Interesting that Mike will speak at this conference...since it's related to Twitter, but hopefully there will be pictures and video!

Mike will speak at 4:40PM on October 27th (first day of the two day conference) at The Kodak Theater in Los Angeles, CA
He and Arron Ray are listed under "Artist & Manager" Subject: Notes on twitter & real time communication.

Not anyone can attend this, there is a fee, it's a lot of money but if you're interested in this, then register here.

EDIT: Found a discount...$200, not sure if it's still valid it was just yesterday but if you're in the LA area or want to travel there, get your tickets and use this promotional code: GeneralAdmision
here is the email from Jeff Pulver:
For the first time, I am opening up the General Admission seats above the first floor in the Kodak Theater and offering access to these seats for $200 for both days. Friends who purchase these seats will be able to experience the #140conf Tech Concert in person. If you would like to purchase the General Admission ticket, please use this link: http://www.amiando.com/140LA.html?discountCode=generaladmission". (Promotional code: GeneralAdmision ).

When I look at the schedule ( http://lax.140conf.com/schedule ) for the upcoming 140 Characters Conference: Exploring the State of NOW, taking place in Los Angeles on October 27/28, the first word that comes to my mind is diversity. Over the course of two days there will be 63 sessions presented on the Kodak Theater stage, covering a diverse set of topics including: Education, The Democratization of Information, Public Diplomacy, Public Health, Public Safety, China, Brands, Comedy, Investing, News, Public Policy & Law, Poker, Small Business, Music, Sports, Hollywood Politics and a lot more.

Blogging is enjoyable and useful!

Saturday, September 12, 2009

Mike just posted a new blog post that "Blog: enjoyable and useful." Right underneath food. Haha, so the war is over? Mike claims he outsmarted Phoenix, lol, though Mike is getting more recognition with his new twitterfeed (which, btw, we have now!) and Phoenix just has Twitter. When Mike gets more followers than Phoenix, I think then officially the war will be over, but who knows.

I guess this war is over: I outsmarted Phoenix, now he's delusional. Poor team Twitter…they're in blog > twitter denial. Apparently, they misunderstood the whole battle. Let's go back to the beginning: twitter.com/phoenixlp: "blogging < facebook < twitter < giant terd. For the non-math contingent, those are "less than" symbols." and "blogging… lame. "Blog" is worse than "twitter." Therefore, unfortunately for team Twitter, this has never been a "which side are you on" debate. Greater-than and less-than: it's a hierarchical debate. As in: Food: Enjoyable and necessary Blog: Enjoyable and useful My Toilet: I don't care one way or another about it, but at least it's useful. Twitter: Less than toilet. I know Dave is a Star Wars fan, so I'll help him out by using a Star Wars analogy. The question is not "are you on the light side or the dark side?" The question is: which is higher on the food chain, blog or twit? Blogging is Yoda. Twitter is Jar Jar Binks.

Lol for Mike using Star Wars in his debate. But...BLOGGING RULES. TEAM SHINODA! Ha. This war...or used to be "war" is hilarious. Don't y'all agree?

MIKE IS NOW ON TWITTER!

Friday, September 11, 2009

LPlive.net has confirmed that Mike is now on Twitter!
I was doubting it at first since Mike said that m_shinoda was fake and NOT him, I checked it again and the previous tweets are gone and his first tweet said, "Taking over what is rightfully mine. Eat it, Farrell"

PLUS, his Twitter background:

Not to mention Adam (from the LPUHQ) confirmed it!

Thanks to NamelessTheory for tweeting about it. :)

Sources: LPlive.net

Edit: New blog post about Twitter:

Posted 42 minutes ago by isadora - http://twitter.com/m_shinoda is that you?
M: "The enlightened ruler lays his plans well ahead; the good general cultivates his resources." Sun Tzu, The Art of War

Edit: Mike has blogged saying that it is him on twitter but he's going to use it as a feed for his blog, so Im not sure he'll actually be tweeting anything himself.
Dave just texted me: "you're not on Twitter, right? I think there's a new spazz imposter."

LOL. I'm using Twitter the way it's supposed to be used, Dave. As my blog's bitch.

mike

http://twitter.com/m_shinoda

EDIT: For those of you who don't know what a twitterfeed is (which includes Phoenix)...it automatically posts links to my blog posts. In other words, I don't actually tweet anything, it just reposts my blog posts. It makes Twitter my blog's subordinate, underling, inferior...biiiaaatch.

Sad day.

GLXS book available now! & GLXS review.

Remember as always the money goes to charity (Music for Relief) and Mike's endowed scholarship at Art Center College Of Design. :)

'GLORIOUS EXCESS'
by Mike Shinoda
Foreword by Shepard Fairey

Who would know more about the perils of celebrity than one who’s carrying its load? Linkin Park musician and visual artist Mike Shinoda turned his experience of success in the music industry into a grand visual comment. With the completion of the dual series that encompassed the idea, Glorious Excess (Born) and (Dies), Shinoda used paint, canvas and dirty, lo-res imagery to help his audience comprehend the influences of popular culture from his unique standpoint.

Glorious Excess is a 128-page full-color book that documents the bodies of work Shinoda created for (Born) and (Dies), two conjunct shows held at the Japanese American National Museum. Shinoda’s work follows a skeletal central figure’s rise to fame in the nine works created for Born, and the character’s fall in the 17 works produced for Dies. In the forward, world-renowned artist Shepard Fairey puts this work into cultural context. “Mike Shinoda makes art that is telling the culture what is happening to it,” Fairey writes, “but unlike the dry presentation of an academic social commentator, Mike’s visual commentary has a visceral appeal that might just break through to the ADD generation.”

The book also includes five insightful chapters written by Shinoda. In these chapters, he explains how the idea for Glorious Excess was born, critiques celebrity culture, discusses his hip-hop influences, questions media’s intentions, and examines what his work means after the King of Pop’s death. Shelley Leopold, managing editor of the LA Weekly, also wrote an essay for the book. With keen insight, Leopold thoroughly examines Shinoda’s work and sheds new light on it.

Glorious Excess is being published in conjunction with Glorious Excess (Dies) at the Japanese American National Museum, August 29 to October 4, 2009.

Proceeds go to Music For Relief and the Michael K. Shinoda Endowed Scholarship at Art Center College Of Design, benefiting students based on financial need and artistic merit.'

Mike also posted a review on GLXS read it here:

LA’s Japanese American National Museum is now hosting a prodigious art exhibition by Mike Shinoda entitled Glorious Excess (Dies). The massive creative effort is a pivotal point in the career of the young artist, as he establishes himself outside of his work in music. Shinoda’s adroit use of all types of media to channel his voice is remarkable. The show signals the artist’s ability to create his vision in a plethora of mediums, including digital platforms. It’s clear that the concept of the exhibition has been thoughtfully embedded into each rendition. It’s not too early to opine that Glorious Excess (Dies) provides one the year’s most memorable moments. On view until October 4.

Glorious Excess Is Here!

Saturday, August 29, 2009

As many of you know GLXS (DIES) is here! Opens today at 8pm, if you live in SoCal, you should DEFINITELY go to it! As Phoenix said on his Twitter, "If you live in southern California, and you're not going to the Glorious Excess (dies) artshow on Saturday, then you're a wanker." Lol, Phoenix. He also wanted to be part of the art show: "Congrats to Shinoda on opening GXS (dies)! I submitted this piece for the show, but it apparently "didn't work" :-( http://twitpic.com/fpjfg"
Poor Phi, I thought the drawing was very nice, courtesy of Ana B.

Mike posted a blog post recently, he took some pics. Check it out at his blog or here:

Tonight is the big show. Doors open to the public at 8pm. I will be there to sign GLXS (DIES) merchandise. Here's a sneak-peek at the setup that has been going on for the last three days. I can't wait for you to see it.

Before the madness begins:

Prepping the walls:

...Driving to the museum, this guy was sitting in my front seat. Hope I don't get pulled over...

Installation in progress:

See you there...

Does that mean he's calling us a "fake"? Hahahaha, jk, I wish I could go there, if you are going to Mike's art show and have any pictures, please share it with us! We will give you FULL credit, we'd really appreciate it. :)

Phoenix on Twitter

Thursday, August 20, 2009

Phoenix is now on Twitter, he accepted a dare to stay on for 3 months, Mike doesn't think he'll last one. Let's see if he gets addicted to Twitter or if he loses the dare!
Follow Phi: http://twitter.com/phoenixlp

In case you don't already know, I'm not on Twitter. I simply feel this blog is big enough to hold all of my mental barf, I don't need another outlet. With that said, Chester was the only other guy in our band on...until now.

To make a long story short, Phoenix--who has been vehemently against joining--has accepted a dare: to try to stay on for 3 months. My bet is that he won't get to one...but whether he makes it that far or not, it will undoubtedly be hilarious watching him try. Do yourself a favor and follow him. I'll be checking in with him from here on mikeshinoda.com regularly.

My favorite tweet so far: "I already have 2 followers... I think they are junktweets... Maybe my persistent emailer will tweet me about enlarging my weiner."

http://twitter.com/phoenixlp

mike

edit: By the way, while you're there, tell the dumbass at http://twitter.com/m_shinoda that we know he's not me, and that he's an idiot for faking it. What a scumbag, LOL.

I really hope no one here or part of the MSC followed m_shinoda, lol. I wonder if Phoenix gets addicted...will he persuade Mike to get one? Ha. That'll be the day? It is addicting at first.
